Smile cc or gcc compiler?

What is the different between cc and gcc compilers? which one is better or faster?

cc may be native to the box (because you need to re-compile the kernel after tuning...), could also be a ANSI C compiler you bought...
gcc is the gnu C compiler...

To say which is best or faster is out of topic, its a question of choice based on your experience...

gcc is not the c compiler
gcc stands for GNU Compiler Collection
with includes a c compiler, among others
GCC, the GNU Compiler Collection - GNU Project - Free Software Foundation (FSF)

A clarification. GCC used to stand for the GNU C Compiler, but since this compiler supports several other languages aside from C, it now stands for the GNU Compiler Collection.
