putty

i am connecting to a unix-application using putty (xp).
sometime, it is as if the putty is sending a form-feed char, because i am getting a blank screen, and by back scrolling i see the previous screen
with all the related data.

if i am using the xp-telnet, i get the screen/data correctly.

any-tips?

thks.

Some admins test your login shell (interractive or not..., what terminal..., stty options...) some dont...
Do you log in using putty then launch your application?
In that case once logged in, look at your environment:
type env
look how your TERMINAL variable is set
Then see if it matches your putty configuration...

putty

additional info.

i had remarked the lines that load the applicaion after logging in.
TERM=vt220

i had been explained that .login &/or .csh [or similar] changes the ansi
to vt200.

make any sense?

There is a mismatch then between what is expected by your application and your TERM value it seems...
There is something I dont quite understand though, if in your .profile (or .login or...) it sets to VT200 how come you have ansi ?

What about when you use XP hyper termnal, what does it give you for TERM= ?

Try in putty config:
Terminal tick DEC Origin Mode initially on
You have also keyboard options you can try (VT100+ ?)
