Hello everyone my ? is about backups. I'am running SCO OS 505 and currently backing up the hole HD. Well the back up is taking too long and this is becoming a problem for the users since we are a 24-7 bussines, I whant stop backing up every thing on the HD. What are the most important files and directories I should back up besides the files and databases the users and user software generate?
Thanks. |

What are you using to backup - what command or software?
If it is ufsdump (comes with most UNIX OS) then you can do incremental backups during the week and a full on the weekends (when even 24X7 shops are usually slower) Check out the man page if this is what you are using. Also check out this link which may give you a better idea of what to do. |
