Viewing Directory Content as You Navigate Directories in UNIX
Hi,
Can someone help me figure out how to view directory content while I navigate directories (without having to go to the actual directory and "ls-ing" it)? Is there some keyboard shortcut for this? For instance, it would be useful if I could see the content of a directory when I'm copying from it. Currently, I have to go to the directory itself, ls the directory to find the contents, and then copy stuff out of there. Please let me know if you don't know what I mean. I'm currently using the bash version of UNIX. Example of what I want to do: (1) Type: cp ../../<some shortcut key> (2) Console shows me the directory contents without losing my "cp ../../" command Thanks in advance! Amol |
