Question about CRON

i add a line to the crontab as follows:
"10 10 07 08 * chdir /usr/abc;perl abc.pl"
the abc.pl is a perl script i write myself

when the time elapses
using command "ps -ef"
there are two processes:
..... sh -c chdir /usr/abc;perl abc.pl
......perl abc.pl

how come?

the OS is Solaris 8

help

I beleive that one process is the shell the crontab has created to run the perl and the other is the perl itself running.
