Question file permisions 2000 to OSX

Could anyone tell me how or point me in the right direction on how to save files from a 2000box to a OSX server with the correct file permissions. File goes over and the only person that has r/w permissions is the owner everyone else is read only. HELP!!!

What are you using to put the files over (ftp, scp, ...)?

What are the defaults for the user you are signing in as? (Check the umask of the ID that you are using by logging in normally and using the umask command)

It may be that you can change the default of the umask for that userID (not recommended but anything can be done).

Personally, I would come up with a different way (script, note of apology, live with it). Changing the default umask is not good as far as security. Why do you want these files to be more than read?

windows services are running on the osx server so browse to it from the 200 box and just drop files on it. I need the files more than r for more than just the owner I need the group the user belongs to to able to make changes to these files also. If you can think of anything else ..... thanks
