Question DNS servers

I am supposed to setup a Domain Name Server, and I don't really know how to do this, can someone either help me, or point me in the direction of a site that has a good explination of how to do this.

Thanks,
Ronnie

You will want to pick up the bible "DNS and Bind" from O'Reilly at your favorite book store.

You need this before Mr. DNS will answer any question but you can look through the FAQ's at the site.

Also look at BIND versions from ISC

TCP/IP book is good too...

Also, it wouldn't hurt to have the TCP/IP book by O'Reilly as well.

Check for this at used bookstores. I have found both for 1/2 price, if you have those types of stores in your town.

Also, check on www.amazon.com for used versions of these books. Save some money...

BIND isn't the only one

You might want to try out djbdns as well.

Install: http://cr.yp.to/djbdns/install.html
FAQ: http://cr.yp.to/djbdns/faq.html

Happy DNS:ing

EDIT: Ops, thanks for that Kelam_Magnus

I think your first link is wrong. It should have a .html on the end.
