Question boot from external cdrom

Could some one please tell the command used to boot from an external SCSI cdrom drive? from PROM level.

If it is Solaris, from the "ok" prompt
boot cdrom

If it is Linux Red Hat
You must change the boot sequence in BIOS
Put Removeable device media first in the boot sequence.

in solaris, make sure you have reconfigured your kernel to "see" the external device by using one of these methods once the device is attached:

1. at the ok prompt: boot -r

2. touch /reconfigure then reboot

3. devfsadm -c <class_name>, then init 6
