Can I delete the file var/spool/mail/news?

The file var/spool/mail/news has grown very large and takes up too much space. Can I delete this without any problem?

As such, might be dependent on whether you have any use for a news account. This is usually a role account for the local NNTP daemon. If you're a major Usenet hub, the mail you get to the news account is important; if you didn't even know you are running NNTP, you should perhaps look into disabling it altogether.
