On my PC I have two hard disks, the first with Windows 98 SE and the second with Linux Mandrake 8.0 (Traktopel). When I have installed Linux, it has modified the boot record of the 1st HD and it has added a graphic menu (LILO) for selecting the OS to use. By default, if I don't press a key, Linux is automatically started after 5 seconds.
If I want to make Windows the default setting instead of Linux (or simply change the name of the various options in the boot menu or the time delay), how can I do?

I have tried in this way:
- Login as root
- Start linuxconf (in text mode or graphical mode, it seems to be the same)
- Select 'Boot' menu

At this point it appears a dialog box: "You are allowed to define the default boot mode of this computer". Here I can select only the option "Default boot mode", that doesn't allow me to change what I want to change. I think that the 'Boot' menu should be more detailed (with many options) but I can't view all the possible options.

What I have to do?

If it can be helpful, the Kernel version is 2.4.3-20mdk on an i686 machine. I use KDE v2.1.1 as a graphical interface.

You edit /etc/lilo.conf. In it you change the default=Linux entry to the lable name you use for Windows, like default=Win98SE or whatever. -mk
