Problem with crontab
I'm trying to get crontab to run a script, but to test crontab I tried out a very simple command: `echo bob`
here is my crontab file (I edited it by using `crontab -e`): ----------------- #!/bin/sh 23 10 * * * echo bob and at 10:23 every day I get a new message: in /var/mail/a -------------------- From a@c.b.org Fri Dec 21 10:23:01 2007 Return-Path: <a@c.b.org> X-Original-To: a Delivered-To: a@c.bob.org Received: by a.b.org (Postfix, from userid 501) id 56D5023B5C3; Fri, 21 Dec 2007 10:23:01 -0500 (EST) From: a@c.b.org (Cron Daemon) To: a@c.b.org Subject: Cron <a@c> echo bob X-Cron-Env: <SHELL=/bin/sh> X-Cron-Env: <PATH=/usr/bin:/bin> X-Cron-Env: <LOGNAME=a> X-Cron-Env: <USER=a> X-Cron-Env: <HOME=/Users/a> Message-Id: <20071221152301.56D5023B5C3@c.b.org> Date: Fri, 21 Dec 2007 10:23:01 -0500 (EST) bob --------------------- at least it does my command, however I was hoping that I would be able to have it output to on the screen I'm on, instead of having to go and check my "mail". If anyone can help that would be great |
