HP 9000 rp7420 server

Hi all,

I'm trying to find out info on HP 9000 rp7420 server.

16-way rp7420 server - what does 16-way stand for?

There is 32-way rpxxxx also.

I searched www.hp.com site but no luck.

Can anyone put some light in it pls.

Thanks in advance

This reference indicates it's a 1 to 8 CPU PA-8800 machine.

But it supports dual-core processors for a max of 16 cores and this is what HP means by "16 way".

rp7420 quickspec says:
Quote:
The HP 9000 rp7420 16 Server is a symmetrical multiprocessing (SMP) server supporting up to 8 high performance dual core PA 8900 (1.1 GHz or 1.0 GHz) or PA-8800 (1.0 GHz or 900 MHz) processor modules. A dual core processor module supports 2 processors resulting in a 16 way server.
