please help
I have newly joined here and there is no Unix/Network Administrator here. SO I need to figure all of this myself. Please help me if you know anything about the following:
Is it that veritas volume manager is only used for disk arrays etc? This is a part from the output of df -k on my Sun box /dev/vx/dsk/rootvol / /dev/vx/dsk/usr /usr /proc /proc fd /dev/fd mnttab /etc/mnttab /dev/vx/dsk/var /var swap /var/run swap /tmp /dev/vx/dsk/opt /opt /dev/vx/dsk/oracledg/ora01 /ora_install /dev/vx/dsk/oracledg/ora02 /ora_system /dev/vx/dsk/oracledg/ora04 /ora_temp /dev/vx/dsk/oracledg/ora03 /ora_redo /dev/vx/dsk/oracledg/ora05 /ora_data /dev/vx/dsk/oracledg/ora06 /ora_indx /dev/vx/dsk/oracledg/ora07 /ora_lob /dev/vx/dsk/oracledg/ora08 /ora_rbs /dev/vx/dsk/oracledg/ora09 /ora_export /dev/vx/dsk/oracledg/ora10 /ora_arch How do I find out the filesystems are from the A1000 disk array or local disks. Thanx a lot for any info. Regards

You would need to bring up the GUI interface or run the vx commands - If you are the System Admin, good luck. If not, I suggest you talk to him/her about the different commands available (some only as root).
Check out docs.sun.com for more info on both Veritas (it won't matter much if it's Veritas's version of Volume Manager or SUN's version of Veritas Volume Manager.) Also set up your MANPATH to include the man pages for the VX commands (vxprint, vxdisk...) |
