which version of unix and termnail emulator
hello
i have a computer sat around doing nothing so i what to install a version of Unix on it, i then want to access the computer from my pc though my home network e.g router. The thing is what version of unix should i use there are so many and being new to all of this some advice would be welcome. Also what termail emulator should i use on my pc to acess the unix machine over the network. Again there are so many versions a recomedation would be great to get me on my way Thanks in advice superdude |

I will always recommend FreeBSD as an easy Unix for beginners. I have had a lot of success with it. You will probably get a lot of sugesstions for xterm. That's pretty much the Unix standard terminal emulator.

Freebsd, SUSE Linux, Solaris 10. Take your pick all have their good and bad points, but one good point is they are all free!!!!
