Dear all,
I just found out that my company is thinking of installing a unix server and is considering either sun or ibm. The thing is that i want to learn these two systems before they take a decision and maybe it will be a big career booster. The problem is that i don't know anything about unix. Could someone advise me how to get these two systems working on my intel p4/32 bit/XP PC at home?is it possible? If not what to do? In a nutshell i need some starting tips and HELP. Appreciate all the help i can get, Thank you all in advance, Regards, |

I am not sure about IBM, but you should visit www.sun.com. You can download either version 9 or 10 (the latest version) of their OS for a "pc" (x86).

last time, solaris x86 (for the intel) was available for download. I am not sure whether is it now. You can go to SUN's website and find out more. If you don't know anything about unix, maybe you can try the unix vmware appliances here . Use vmware player here to run them. $0.02 |
