You can just go ahead with the Linux installation. The install will be considerate and not wipe out the WinXP information from your MBR. The GRUB boot loader that will be put in place will allow you to boot to either of the two operating systems.

Which flavour of Linux?

Hi,

I've found that you get the best results by installing Windows first as Windows doesn't deal with the Linux boot loader very well.

I had major problems trying to convert a machine to Windows from Fedora Core 4 because Windows couldn't do anything with the Linux boot partition.

HTH, it's not an easy task!

Cheers, pondlife.
