screen question

i'm using Screen version 4.00.02 (FAU) 5-Dec-03 (under FreeBSD / Mac OS X). and the problem is the following: i usually run mc in screen and also usually run various commands from mc, which is running in screen. but i can't see the results :)

i mean, if i just run some command (ls or any else) that gives me results, which does not fit in the terminal -- well, then i can just scrollback (defscrollback is set to 1000 in ~/.screenrc).

but if i run the same ls from mc -- then the only available scrollback history would be the one was saved before running mc. and scrolling back or pressing Ctrl-O just gives me no results :).

sorry, if i wasn't clear enough, but you may just try all that in practice: run screen, run mc, run ls in mc and you see no output :).

yes, i know that i may set Pause after run... -> Always in mc's options, but it's a bit inconvinient... so, i would be grateful if you could point me to the another solution -- is there any option? patch? or something? :).

thank you in advance.

any news here?

for now i'm using 'less' as a filter, so it makes a pause, and i'm able to see an output.

but may be there is another more stylish decision?
