ftp doesnt allow to login as root?
hi,
m using ftp for transfering file bt it doesnt allow me to login as root on that machine. i think its due to security reasons,bt m nt getting d idea behind this. because if i know the root password then anyway i can do whatever i want on dat machine,so y it is restricting me to login as root,ya i can login as an ordinary user.or is there anyway to overcome this thing. bye.

I think IP check established in UNIX machine. Put ur IP in UNIX machine so that u can connect in Super user mode

check your ftpusers file
/etc/ftpd/ftpusers there you will have root included denying ftp access when trying to login as root
