Macintosh user needs help with pop3d
Hi folks!
I am not a power user, and have been able to enable Postfix to run on my Macintosh. It was a little bit difficult for me. But I payed good attention, while following an Internet Tutorial. Postfix version 2.1.5 I can send out emails, from local accounts or even from other computers on the network. I am having a problem with pop3: The GUI email programs on other computers tell me that I am supplying with the wrong password, and this is what I get on the terminal window on the Mac: correiofacil-com:~ bernardo$ telnet 127.0.0.1 110 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost. Escape character is '^]'. +OK POP3 [127.0.0.1] 2004.88 server ready user bernardo +OK User name accepted, password please pass xxxxxxxxxxxxxx -ERR Bad login I have reinstalled the whole system 3 times, and still get the same message. My guess is that somehow pop3 daemon is not retrieving the password correctly from the system. May be someone could help me? Thank you! Bernardo Höhl Rio de Janeiro - Brazil |
