I have faced the following error :
Feb 8 11:56:10 test sendmail[18016]: [ID 702911 mail.alert] unable to qualify my own domain name (test) -- using short name I searched the forum and tested the required in the posts , but it doesn't work ... I have changed the IP and local host in /etc/hosts to be as follows : 172.16.55.48 test.mtc.com.lb but also it does not work .... Thanks, |

It sounds like your issue is that you are not using DNS, which sendmail 'requires' - there is a work around on the Sendmail FAQ
