Hi, i was installing solaris 8 on sunfire v250 and the power fails

get the box to the ok prompt through stop-a and then type in "boot cdrom" ... make sure you reformat the drive when you reinstall ...
sun boxes can easily boot off the cdrom if there are no boot files found on the internal drives --- i'm guessing your process conked out after a bunch of the boot and system files have been put in so the system sees them and tries to boot off them after the reboot ... doing the stop-a and "boot cdrom" will insure that the box doesn't try to boot off the incomplete system installation ... good luck! |
