Some versions of HP-UX will support Itanium. HP-UX 11i v1.5 and HP-UX v1.6 are both Itanium only. HP-UX 11i v2.0 is both Itanium and PA-RISC. But this does not mean that any box with an Itanium CPU can run a version of HP-UX. HP-UX needs a custom chipset. I only know two: zx1, and sx1000. Both of these chipsets work with with either PA-RISC or Itanium CPU's (one or the other, you can't mix them). There may be other HP chipsets, but don't assume that you can run HP-UX on just any Itanium box.
