Error: when i try to Increse the size of LV

I have AIX 5.1, and one of my LV is 100% used... and i have PP's available to incresed the size... and When i try Increase the Size of a Logical Volume... the SMITTY CONSOLE display an error...

ERROR MESSAGE

Press Enter or Cancel to return to the application.

1820-037 An internal error or system error has
occurred. See the log file for further
information.

And then, the Smitty MENU display......

Increase the Size of a Logical Volume

Type or select values in entry fields.
Press Enter AFTER making all desired changes.

[Entry Fields]
LOGICAL VOLUME name lvsdm
Number of ADDITIONAL logical partitions [] #
PHYSICAL VOLUME names [] +
POSITION on physical volume M +
RANGE of physical volumes minimum +
MAXIMUM NUMBER of PHYSICAL VOLUMES [32] t
use for allocation
Allocate each logical partition copy yes +
on a SEPARATE physical volume?
File containing ALLOCATION MAP []

WHY THE POSITION on PV display only a letter M ... and not display the word.. there are something strange here!

When I check the log file... this is the message:

**** ERROR ****

1800-083 Data error: could not find matching ring
field value for corresponding Command_to_Discover
value. sm_cmd_opt[3].disc_field_name:
"Position".
The current actual value will be used as the
default value for the following dialog. Use
local problem reporting procedures.

WHY THIS ERROR OCCURS... and how to proceed....

THanks anticipated for any help!
