Eliminate blank lines...
Hi All,

How can I eliminate the blank lines from a file.

For e.g.

File1 contains
ABCD
EFGH

ZZZZ
HJHH

KJKJ

IUYU

I need the file to be as follows....
ABCD
EFGH
ZZZZ
HJHH
KJKJ
IUYU

Code:
egrep -v '^[   ]*$' file1 > file2

Where the characters between the '[' and ']' are a space and a TAB (get a TAB by doing CTRL-V followed by CTRL-I).

sed '/^$/d' < file1
