hosts.allow & hosts.deny

Hi!

Im trying to use host.allow & host.deny to resrtic access to my sun machine, but it doesnt seem to work... I want to allow full access from certain IP´s (ssh,http,ftp,etc...) but deny all kind of conections from outsideworld, the way that im doing that is:

hosts.allow

ALL:127.0.0.1
ALL:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
ALL:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
ALL:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
ALL:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

hosts.deny

ALL:ALL

But i can access my server from anywhere in the intranet, what im doing wrong??

I´m using Solaris9

Thanks!

iirc, the hosts.* files are for x/inetd control. If you are running your daemons in standalone mode, afaik, these files have no effect. Look into iptables or whatever solaris' equivalent may be.

Are you just putting the files there, or is tcp wrappers installed?
