as a newbie to unix, i use vi (i finally discovered emacs:-). However, in my company, the vi editor is all dark black while on my solaris laptop it is all white background. Is it a legitimate question to wonder why or am i having too much wine?:-)

vi and emacs

I use vi most of times in usual work days but if I need programming ı woud prefer emacs due to its strong manipulation and coefficient test mode ; split shell and editor together.
