You don't say what version of Unix you have, but all I know of support the command ifconfig for setting up network interfaces. Do a man ifconfig and see what options you need to use.
There are probably networking files in /etc that contain this information so you don't need to use ifconfig to set it up after each boot. In Solaris, for example, you would use /etc/defaultrouter to set the gateway address. Again, depends on which version you have but you can probably figure it out from the man pages. Check the "files" section of the man output for ifconfig, it will probably list the correct files you need to edit there. |
