Samba question
Hey,
I have set up a Windows share with Samba, so that other Windows machines in the network can access the share. It doesn't let me log in. Windows just gives me a password screen, I tried logging in with some of the regular accounts on the Linux system, and I even tried it with root but it just keeps coming up with the password screen. I have looked in the smbpasswd file and theres only 1 account: nobody. What is the password for nobody? it is encrypted in the file but I never set it. I made the share public yet I need a password. How do I allow other accounts on the Linux box to log in on the windows share? |

Take a look at the man page for smbpasswd - note the -a option for adding new users.
Also see this... All the docs are there on the www.samba.org website.... Cheers ZB |
