If a is windows gui ( client), b is a unix gui ( Server for a) and c is a shell scrip

Hello all,
1) I want to have a GUI application that will call Unix shell scripts,

2) that GUI application should be able to reside on windows ( if possible) and then call Unix shell script either directly or through a server residing on unix.
That is for example.
If a is windows gui ( client), b is a unix gui ( Server for a) and c is a unix shell script. can i call c through a. or call c directly from a.

3) what are some good technology/software to use for a and b. ( that is VB, C++ or Java etc...)

4) is it better to go on the webserver/asp route, if so can anyone point on which webserver and which scripting language etc...

Thanks in advance for your help,
Hari

The choice of technologies to use would depend very much on what you wish to do.

There are may ways you could do this, but it depend on what you want to achieve.

What would the purpose of the scripts be ?

You may be able to do this as simple as by using a webserver and cgi or php with a brower and webpage as client.

Another option would be to use a ssh api for your favourite programming language in windows and call the scripts over an ssh connection.
