Linux version of aix 'uname'

Hello all,

Does linux have a command which performs a similar function to aix

uname -a

Its a standard UNIX command so it should have it and work the same...

Thanks...I thought it was weird that it didn't wok but I've sussed it out now - I think I didn't have the correct PATH set in my profile so it couldn't find uname...

It happens to all of us one day... (Today I could not reset my X session, sure the command dtsession worked... exactly the same as you...)
