Mail fail to find internal server
I am getting a "connection to the server has failed" error when trying send out internal email. this will be like this for maybe four hours then it will start working for no reason. then it will stop again. the only constant i have is if i reboot the server the send mail will work for about an hour then stop. I have took out and put back in sendmail twice. This seemed to start after several of our remote divisions were infected with the sircam virus. It has been cleaned and never affected the server. Any suggestions

check syslog and messages. for any errors for sendmail. if you can paste some of the error that would be good. you can also start sendmail in a debug mode so you can get more output from sendmail.
if sendmail is crashing then there is a serious problem with something killing that daemon. |
