Smile command topas

hi, everybody
i have a problem about performane in unix
when i run topas, there 1 form show, there are many parameter about memory,cpu,....
i want to know detail about those
example :
MEMORY
Real,MB 12287
% Comp 25.0
% Noncomp 75.8
% Client 0.5
comp mean ? 25 mean ? 25MB or 25%memory
PAGING SPACE
Size,MB 19392
% Used 0.5
% Free 99.4
can anyone answer my question? thanks alot.

It would help greatly if you were to tell us what version of unix you are running.

Also, you might want to run a few command to tell you what your starting point is for each of these. Like how much total memory and swap you have, how fast are your cpus, how many cpus, etc...

Telling us the flavor of Unix will help greatly....and the OS version.

can you explain parameter in topas
such as memory, paging space, paging, events/queues...

i know that, type man topas, there are many explaination about performance, but i dont't understand abount memory
for example
MEMORY
Real,MB 16383
% Comp 36.2
% Noncomp 58.9
% Client 59.1

total memory=100%?
% Comp + % Noncomp +% Client >100%
can you explaint that?

I don't use aix, but looking at the man page my expectation would be
comp + non-comp <= 100
Some of either can be client.

this post is old !
paging space of this server was low : 0.5%
comp / noncomp is not interesting value for now. 25% / 75%
client memory used is low 0.5%
Probably CPU, disk, FS, network or something else was the probleme.
this topic should be deleted.
