Printing 750 permission file

Hi,

I've chmod my home directory to 750 and have problem printing a text file inside 1 of my sub-folder.

I'm confused on this printing problem as I the owner of the file but why I can't print.

I received no error message on the screen when I issue
lp <filename>. But the printer connected to a V880 does not have any respone to my command.

Wherelse when I chmod my home directory to 755.
Bingo!! No problem.

Why is this so? Need advise please

i don't usually work with printers but i do know that if you have set your permissions from root you may have a sticky bit in that particular directory causing denied access to the file. check to see if you have any sticky bits and make sure that they are not interfering with the files transfer to the printer.
