As a formem unix newbe

I Just wanted to tell you about this cool site for all you confused people.

thats a very old list...... and there is a lot of bollocks...

beste claim:
Reconfigure the kernel:
solaris:
vi /etc/system; reboot (!!!!!)
*muhahahaha*

would not believe everything

One strange thing is :

Solaris root device
/dev/vx/dsk/rootvol
Only true if you are using Veritas products.

should be /dev/dsk/cXtXdXs0

but its a great site.. Missing IRIX and thats a shame because it's really strange

my costumers would kill me if i would reboot their fireserver only for a "small" kernel reconfiguration.... ;-)
sun calls it Dynamic Reconfiguration, and it is able to change nearly every HW-situation in that server.
also semaphores & shared memory parameters are dynamic.

but nothing to discuss, at least a nice page ;-) but it is out of day....
