help with find command

Hi all!

Does anyone know how i can find a file created on a certian
date? I dont know the filename, only the day it was created.

This is solaris 8.

This question has been asked in various forms many times on these forums. One such recent thread is here
find command using -mmin param

File creation time is not stored in a files inode, so is impossible to find - as long as you can guarantee the file (or inode) has not been modified, you can check modified/changed times, although this is not failsafe.

Please try searching the site before posting.

Ok thanks. Got i to work with [find . -mtime "days ago"]
Coz i knew the day it was created, i just had to count.
