Unhappy I'm incapable of the simplest thing

Okay, stupid question

How can I use ed, exactly?

I need just a quick tutorial, thanks.

Have you bothered to try "man ed"? - It's fairly brief but will give you the terse overview you require.

Searching google for something like "ed +UNIX" or similar will give a ton of information.
