pppd problem

Hello,
I have Zydas 56k USB modem.... (it tells you lots of and the thing is I'd like to make it work with FreeBSD 5.2.1, however after all:
/etc/ppp/options
/etc/ppp/chat.script have been set up
it gives an error like:
tcgettatr: Invalid argument.
(the modem is connected to ugen0)
If you have any ideas on this one, plese share them with me, as a newcomer, the last thing I'd like to do is to recompile the kernel.

Thanks.

I wonder, if this problem is really that way hard to solve out...

First, see the Freebsd hardware and pick your platform type - see if your platform supports USB modems.

Second, read this article at freebsdaddicts.org - it may help.

Can't say RTM've been very helpful, but I will.Thank you RTM very much, though the places you suggested 2 look for the solution were the first I did.
Any other suggestions please?
