Wink Can I copy only part of my file to a new file?

Hi,
I am looking for command to allow me only copying certain lines of records in my file to a new file.
Can I do that?

Can you be a little more specific? Do you want to copy every other line in the file, a block of lines within the file? Also, what OS and shell are you using?

For starters, you can use head and tail to get a range of lines from a file.

Or if u have X-Windows .. its as simple as copy and Paste
