OpenSolaris, Wireless won't work, help please!
I just installed a fork of opensolaris, and I really like it.
I would hate going back to Ubuntu, But one issue, I cannot get my Dell Wireless 1450 Wireless USB Adapter working. On Ubuntu 10.4 I just installed nonfree firmware, but I guess it doesn't work that way on Solaris, any help would be greatly appreciated! ---------- Post updated at 10:05 PM ---------- Previous update was at 09:48 PM ---------- Just really hate windows, the sooner I get it working the better. |

Do you have the source of this firmware ? you can compile it for open solaris.
And don't forget that OpenSolaris support will be finished ![]() |

If solaris doesn't support your hardware, it doesn't support your hardware. There's next to no third-party support for consumer level things. |

Some Windows proprietary network drivers can also be installed on OpenSolaris based OSes using the NDIS wrapper: ndis wrapper (Community Group laptop.ndis) - XWiki |
