about cygwin

hi everyone. i have a problem on installing binary file in my cygwin. could anyone help me wat command should i use to install it ?

we need more info. you already have a binary executable? you should be able to just run it. no need to install anything.... but again more information is needed.

hi norsk hedensk,

sorry, about my previous thread. actually wat i mean is like in this website http://cygwin.com/packages/

assume that i choose one of them is "apache"

http://www.cygwin.com/packages/apache/

then after i got all the references inside the above directory then may i ask u wat should i do next to make it works in my cygwin ?

search the cygwin documentation on that site. the link i found here: http://cygwin.com/cygwin-ug-net/setup-net.html#AEN194

tells about setup.exe. run this, this looks like itll be your package manager.

but please read everything at the link i posted so you have an idea of what it is doing. you dont want to go mess up your cygwin installation !

how to install our own code

hi norsk hedensk,

thanks for the probs before, i can be able to solve it.

anyway, i have another question. actually if we write our own code an i would like to put it inside the cywin library wat should i do to make it works then ? can i write using C code and wat should i save the file suffix.
coz the problem that i found is sometimes i need to use the function like "bsearch" but in the cygwin it doesn't support so i would like to try to make it works in cywin. could u give me a bit idea about this ?
