checking memory in AIX

I am using AIX 5.5

I have researched your site and found a few commands to try to check how much physical memory I have but the ones I found are not working. I was wondering does my system have a different command?
I also checked the MAN pages could not find it there.
Could somebody help?
I did use this command and got some results
[vmstat 1 10]

This showed memory but not quite sure how to read the out put.
The third colum over called [AVM] showed [842596] would this be my total physical?

Thanks

What commands did you try that did not work? I've never used aix, but I did a quick search:

Unix system memory
- two suggestions given by PxT

How to find out the spec of my AIX?
- suggests trying: lsattr -HE -l sys0 -a realmem

error while extracting using TAR
- suggests trying: ulimit -m

Total ram
