Question newbie curiousity.....

do shell commands have some of the same functionality as programming languages?

bash and korne are similar (from what i've been told), but is one more stable or better than the other? is it personal preference similar to C++ vs. JAVA?

is there any website that lists all the attributes -l vs -d vs -foobar and there explanations?

thanks in advance.....

Here's a great thread, esp because of google's contribution:

Difference between sh csh ksh bash tcsh zsh rc es shells

Then RTM lists, in this thread, a couple good links, one of which is:

Windows and UNIX Comparison of concepts and commands

---------
None of that might be what you want, but since I'm not sure exactly what you do want, it's better than nothing.

i dont understand your useage of flags.

but as far as shells goes i believe it is a personal preferance.
