xp and then linux or linux and then xp?

I already searched for any answer to my question but I did not find anything, so I'm sorry if my post will give noise to somebody.
The question is the following:
what operating system do I have to install before, red hat linux 9 or windows xp?
What is it better: linux and then windows xp or windows xp and then linux?
I'm sorry for my English but I'm Italian

id say windows first, then linux.

whatever bootloader you use, with most modern distros they automatically take into account your existing windows partition and include the windows partition as a boot option. in suse linux 8.2 and on using GRUB i know this to be the case.
