Lightbulb UNIX for Windows?

Im a big nubie who is just getting into the UNIX/Linux world. I have heard of a version of UNIX that runs on windows, kinda like an Emulator. Anyone know where I can get it?

I just found this link:

which allowed me to order it for "free" rather than $99. The offer expired at the end of last year, but my order seems to have gone through. Note that "free" is relative.... I had to use a credit card which was billed $11.90.

You could also try knoppix, which is linux that runs completely off a bootable cd with no need to install.
