does X apps some times go blank and you need to kill the app i find that to be very annoying becuse i do that a lot is there a fix for this here is my top - 15:22:46 up 2:25, 3 users, load average: 0.12, 0.09, 0.20

check your log files, /var/log/messages ,
/var/log/localmessages. also log files of the programs that are crashing. run a program that crashes from an xterm, and print here any message displayed in the xterm window. |
