Please help me with my script

Hi.

I`m going to make i simple script which prints todays date an time in this format:

*****Todays date and time is <date>

How do I do this? I`m having problems getting it on the same line.

Type the following.... #man date ....then start reading.
You'll find a lot of answers to your own questions on how things work buy making use of the man command.

And the perl way:

#! /usr/bin/perl
$test=`date`;
print "DATE IS:$test\n";

you didnt state whether or not it was a shell script, perl script, etc....
