Installing Solaris 8

I'm new to Unix, and Installed Solaris 8 (IA) for the first time with the end user software group, I got the login screen at startup. When I re-installed it with the Full Distribution plus OEM support it bypasses the login screen and logs me as superuser (root).
Is this normal? Thanks in advance.

New User.

Sounds like some kind of autologin front end. This is not 'normal' but a special case where autologin is desirable. That is not how I run my systems. Normal, however is relative

Login Screen

How would I disable this auto-login and see the Login screen at start up with the full distribution install, because when I install the end-user software group I get the login no problem.
Thanks again.

If your OS comes with a CDROM full of documents with search capability, you might try searching for some autologin or auto-login keywords.

Perhaps some else on the boards can provide a more technical reply?
