OK it was taking to long so I just reinstalled it. Now I'm back to the begining. I've given up on ssh, i don't "really" need it I suppose. What I do need is web. Again, using the default web folder. When I ftp in, I don't have permissions to upload to my web folder. How can I gain permission to the folder without messing up apache's permissions to use the folder?

My suggestion is you go get a basic Linux systems administration book.
