awk problem

Hi Guys,

I am having a requirement,

How can I print all the lines from 6/10/2009 to 12/12/2009 in a log file using awk command?

I am not familiar with the syntax for this command..

Guys please help... Really appreciate ur help..

how about an idea:
  1. convert dates of the form 'MM/DD/YYYY' to 'YYYYMMDD'
  2. pass your start and end dates in the same format - YYYYMMDD
  3. check if the current line's date is between 'start' and 'end' - if it is, print the line.
