Worm Virus

I am running Unix SCO and have discovered the worm virus. It is enabled through a BIOS connections, I am able to get around it using telnet, believe it or not.

- Can anyone recommend a virus scan software?
- Has anyone successfully used a virus scan software on unix without a problem?

Please share your stories.

Thanks.

Ana

the worm virus? do you know the name of something you think you might have? what are your exact problems? you cant login from the console? maybe your UI is just frozen. more details on your 'symptoms' please.

there generally arent any virus scan software utilities for unices, as there arent really any viruses for unices. the broadness of the platform ( the many different variants ) is probably the main reasons why there arent many viruses to look out for. there are rootkits and such but anyway. ....

give us some more info, i actually doubt you have a worm or virus, though it is possible. you may have been hacked, but we cant really know until you give us more information.

f-prot is a good virus scanner for *nix (I know for a fact it supports linux, dont know about others). I believe it is free for non-production systems (i.e. nothing that directly brings in money).
